The Familiars

Fanart for Adam Jay Epstein and Andrew Jacobson's children's series The Familiars. Although a children's book, it's perfect for fantasy and animal lovers of all ages.


It concerns an alley cat named Aldwyn who is running from a bounty hunter when he finds himself in a sort of magical pet shop filled with familiars, a wizard or witch's magical companion. He gets chosen to be a wizard named Jack's familiar becuase Jack thought he had telekinesis, and he meets the other familiars, Skylar, a blue jay illusionist, and Gilbert, a tree frog who has the power of divination. But danger rises when their loyals are kidnapped by the evil queen of Vastia (their world), and it's up to them to find them.
